How do we know if our loved one needs assisted living or memory care?

Knowing which part of our community is most appropriate for your loved one can be difficult to determine on your own. Prior to move-in, our nurse completes a comprehensive assessment to determine what needs, either physically or cognitively, we, as a community, will fulfill.

What is included in the base rent?

At Heritage Springs, we want to ensure a carefree lifestyle for our residents. It is for this reason that we include wonderful amenities, such as weekly housekeeping and linen service, transportation, utilities (except telephone), vibrant daily activities and three delightful meals per day in our base rent.

What limits do you have on care verses a nursing home?

The care provided at Heritage Springs is considered assistance with activities of daily living. Our staff is unable to provide any care that would be categorized as "nursing care". If nursing care is required, it would either need to be provided by an outside agency at the community or by a nursing home if 24-hour skilled nursing is required. Of course, we must follow Nevada State regulations and routine assessments are completed to ensure the resident is receiving appropriate care.

Do you have a standard for staffing?

Staffing for Assisted Living and Memory Care is based on the current needs of our residents. There are always Medication Technicians and Resident Assistants available 24/7.

Do you allow pets?

We are pet friendly at Heritage Springs. A resident who would like to move in with a pet would be required to provide up-to-date immunization records. The pet must be relatively small in size. We do require a $250 non-refundable deposit per pet.

Are meals included in the rent?

Assisted Living and Memory Care rents includes three meals a day, seven days a week. In addition, a variety of fresh snacks are available all day long. 

What qualifications do your staff have? 

At Heritage Springs we pride ourselves on providing a safe environment with caring, compassionate staff to meet the scheduled and unscheduled needs of our residents. The staff at Heritage Springs is held to a high level of expectation. During the application process, our staff is drug tested, background checked and interviewed for qualifications and experience. Once the applicant is hired they participate in a rigorous training program within their department prior to working with our residents.

At what point will my loved one need a nursing home?

It is our hope that our residents would never have to leave their home here to go to a skilled nursing facility. There are many providers we work with to provide some nursing care in the community including hospice. If a resident's needs exceed what that medial agency is able to provide, there may be a need for 24/7 skilled nursing support that can only be provided in a nursing home.

Do you provide transportation?

Yes, Heritage Springs provides transportation five days per week to appointments or for scheduled errands. We also offer fun and exciting outings for our residents as part of our dynamic activity program!

Do you have a nurse on staff?

We have a nurse on staff five days per week, who is on call during nights and weekends. Of course, care staff is present 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

What activities does Heritage Springs provide, and do you take residents on outings?

Heritage Springs offers a wide range of activities to keep our residents busy and engaged. These include regular outings, live entertainment, exciting exercise classes, mind stimulating games and much more. Please call us today for a listing of upcoming activities or to receive a monthly schedule. If a resident has a particular interest or hobby that is not currently a part of our activity program, we encourage them to share it with us so that we may incorporate their pastimes into our regular schedule.

What are your visiting hours?

Heritage Springs offers no set visiting hours. Families are welcome to come visit their loved ones any time as long as they are respectful of other residents. 

What are your dining room hours?

As part of our personal preference program, we proudly offer anytime dining. Our lovely dining room is open from 7am-7pm, seven days per week. There are certain times that specials are offered, but if a resident would like to dine outside of those times, they are welcome to order off of our Anytime Menu.

Do medical professionals come to the building?

Yes. Medical doctors, as well as other professionals and medical agencies, visit Heritage Springs on a regular basis. Our nurse and wellness staff works hard to communicate with these medical professionals to ensure the highest quality of care for our residents.

How can a resident call for help in an emergency?

All resident units are equipped with emergency pull cords to summon a prompt response from our care staff. Each resident is also offered a personal assistance pendant upon move-in so that they may call for assistance no matter where they may be in the community.

Do you accept any insurance?

Unfortunately, Heritage Springs is not able to accept any form of insurance as direct payment.

Is there someone that helps with the process and transition of moving into assisted living? 

Making the transition to move into Assisted Living or Memory Care is a big deal. Our Community Relations Director, as well as the entire management team at Heritage Springs, is available to walk you through the process. You are not alone or without help during this time. We also organize support groups and educational series to provide families with the opportunity to gather and share helpful resources that develop a sense of comfort.
